What Our ₹6,000 Google Ads Campaign for a Calicut Academy Actually Shows

When someone searches for a digital marketing course in Calicut, they’re usually looking for something specific. Maybe they want to learn a new skill, switch careers, or find a classroom course close to home.

For a training institute, reaching these people is far more useful than attracting thousands of visitors who have no plans to join a course.

That’s where Google Search Ads can help. Instead of trying to get everyone’s attention, you can show your business to people who are already searching for what you offer.

We ran a Google Ads campaign for Weblinx Academy of Digital Marketing, a training institute in Feroke, Calicut. Weblinx is also our academy, so we’re familiar with the course offering and the audience it serves.

The campaign is a useful example of what a relatively small advertising budget can achieve in terms of search visibility and website visits. It also shows why clicks alone don’t tell the whole story.

The Campaign and Its Results

The objective was to bring relevant search traffic to Weblinx from people interested in digital marketing training.

According to our published Weblinx campaign case study, the campaign recorded:

  • 2,140 impressions — the approximate number of times the advertisements appeared
  • 194 clicks — visits generated through the advertisements
  • ₹31 average cost per click
  • ₹6,010 in total advertising spend
  • ₹300 daily advertising budget

For a local training institute, 194 visits from paid search is a useful starting point. But there’s an important distinction here. These are advertising traffic figures, not confirmed student enquiries or admissions.

We can’t look at 194 clicks and conclude that the campaign brought in 194 potential students. Some visitors may have been genuinely interested. Others may simply have been exploring their options.

To understand the actual business return, we’d also need to know how many visitors enquired, how many enquiries were qualified, and how many eventually enrolled.

Why the Search Term Matters

Let’s say two people are using Google.

One searches for “what is digital marketing.” The other searches for “digital marketing course in Calicut.”

The first person could be a student preparing an assignment, someone reading about marketing, or a professional looking for a definition.

The second person is more likely to be researching a course they might actually join.

This difference is important when you’re paying for every click.

A keyword with thousands of monthly searches might look attractive on paper. But if most people searching for it aren’t interested in your service, those clicks can quickly eat into your budget.

The same applies to other businesses in Calicut. Someone searching for “best sofa materials” might only want information. Someone searching for “furniture showroom in Calicut” could be much closer to making a purchase.

Neither search is necessarily bad. They simply represent different intentions, and businesses need to decide which ones are worth paying to reach.

The Landing Page Makes a Difference Too

Getting someone to click your advertisement is only half the job.

Once they reach your website, they should be able to find the information they came looking for.

Imagine clicking an advertisement for a digital marketing course and landing on a homepage filled with general information about the company. You’d have to search again to find the course details, classroom location, subjects covered, and admission information.

Some visitors will make that effort. Many won’t.

That’s why the page people land on deserves as much attention as the advertisement itself.

For example, Weblinx has a dedicated page for its digital marketing course in Calicut, where prospective students can explore the training programme and classroom learning options.

A page focused on the advertised service helps visitors evaluate whether it’s right for them without making them navigate through unrelated information.

This doesn’t mean every campaign needs a complicated landing page with animations, countdown timers, and several enquiry forms. Sometimes a clear explanation of the service, relevant details, and an easy way to contact the business are more valuable.

Is ₹6,000 Enough for Google Ads?

It depends on the business, the competition, and what you’re trying to achieve.

For a small local business, ₹6,000 might be a reasonable budget for an initial test. In a highly competitive industry, the same amount might generate only a handful of clicks.

The cost per click also matters less than what happens after the click.

Suppose a business spends ₹5,000 and gets 100 visitors. If none of them becomes a customer, the traffic hasn’t produced a direct return.

Now imagine another business spends the same amount, gets only 30 visitors, but converts three of them into paying customers.

The second campaign could be much more valuable, depending on the revenue and margins involved.

That’s why we wouldn’t recommend increasing a campaign’s budget simply because it’s getting clicks.

Before spending more, it’s worth checking whether the searches are relevant, whether visitors are making enquiries, and whether those enquiries are turning into actual business.

What We’d Pay Attention to in a Local Campaign

If you’re running Google Ads for a business in Calicut, one of the first things worth checking is where your advertising money is going.

Are your ads appearing for searches that match your services? Are you reaching people in locations your business can actually serve? Are irrelevant searches consuming part of the budget?

Then there’s the website experience.

A potential customer might be interested in your service but leave because the page takes too long to load, the contact information is difficult to find, or the content doesn’t answer their questions.

Conversion tracking is another area businesses often overlook. Knowing that someone clicked an advertisement is helpful. Knowing that they submitted an enquiry or contacted your team is far more useful.

Even then, a form submission shouldn’t automatically be treated as a sale. You still need to understand the quality of those enquiries.

These details aren’t particularly glamorous, but they’re often what separates a campaign that generates traffic from one that contributes to business growth.

What Local Businesses Can Take Away

Our Weblinx campaign generated around 2,140 impressions and 194 clicks with approximately ₹6,010 in advertising spend.

Those results show that a local education business can use Google Search Ads to attract visitors without starting with a huge advertising budget.

They don’t prove that the campaign was profitable, because the published figures don’t include confirmed enrolments or revenue. And it’s important to be clear about that.

For businesses considering Google Ads, the more useful lesson is to focus on what happens throughout the customer journey, not just on the advertisement itself.

Choose searches that are relevant to your business. Send visitors to a page that answers their questions. Make it easy for them to contact you. And track whether those contacts eventually turn into customers.

At MaxLead, that’s how we approach search advertising. The objective isn’t simply to get more people onto a website. It’s to help businesses attract people who have a genuine reason to be there.
